New Opportunity as Programme Leader

Ofsted Outstanding banner

Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership SCITT is seeking a new SCITT Programme Leader for our secondary teacher training, succeeding Kate Brockbank who retires this year.  This is a really exciting opportunity to work with new entrants to the profession and help find and train the best teachers for our partnership schools.

GITEP SCITT is rated outstanding by Ofsted and is one of the larger SCITTs in the country, with around 80 secondary trainees a year.  Our partnership with the University of Bristol for the PGCE element of the programme means the successful applicant will also be an Honorary Teaching Fellow of the University of Bristol.  You will work with the GITEP SCITT Director and lead a team of twelve subject leaders, all of whom are seconded from partnership schools, as well as our wonderful administration and recruitment team.

The launch of the Early Careers Framework in September 2021, dovetailing with the Initial Teacher Training Core Content Framework launched last year, means it is quite a time of change for teacher training.  The new Programme Leader will play a crucial role in ensuring that the GITEP SCITT training programme takes on board all the new initiatives and remains outstanding in quality.
