Train to Teach Online Q&A Sessions

New dates for June!

Throughout the pandemic, we’ve continued to recruit people to train to teach in the next academic year. While we were unable to run our usual Teacher Taster Days, our online Q&A sessions have offered an excellent chance to meet up and find out about the routes into teaching, the financial help available and get answers to any questions you may have. Schools are beginning to get back to something closer to normal and Sir Thomas Rich’s School in Gloucester has kindly offered to host an in-person Teacher Taster Day but for those who can’t make it to the in-school event, or who prefer to err on the side of caution for a while longer, we still have two online sessions available too.

Book your FREE place on one of our online Q&A sessions, listed below. To ensure that everybody gets the opportunity to ask their questions, we limit the number of places available. Hope to see you soon!

Teacher Taster Day, 18th June 2021

We are delighted to be able to host a Teacher Taster Day in a school for the first time in over a year!  If you’re interested in becoming a teacher and want to find out more about the training and financial help available and what it’s like to work in a school environment, join us at Sir Thomas Rich’s School in Gloucester for a day where you can:

·         Experience lessons in the subject/s you are interested in teaching

·         Talk to senior staff involved in teacher training

·         Meet current GITEP SCITT trainees

·         Chat with former GITEP SCITT trainees now working at Sir Thomas Rich’s

Friday 18th June 9.30am – 3.00pm
Sir Thomas Rich’s School, Oakleaze, Longlevens, Gloucester GL2 0LF

Sir Thomas Rich’s is a selective grammar school, that has been judged ‘Outstanding’ in every Ofsted inspection. The school takes 150 boys into Year 7 from Gloucester, the county and beyond. The Sixth Form is mixed, with a current total of 150 girls. As a teaching school, they have a firm commitment to training new teachers. To maintain their ‘Outstanding’ status, the school sets very high standards, for its pupils, teachers and trainees, so we are immensely proud that the school regularly employs GITEP trainees once they qualify. The school employed five of our Newly Qualified Teachers last year and three the year before.

You can book your place on the Teacher Taster Day by emailing admin@gitep.org.uk. We’ll need your name, contact details and subject/s you are interested in teaching. We look forward to meeting you – in person!
